About
Who we are -
We are a team completing a driving challenge to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
I’m Jamie and in September 2025 I'll be undertaking a driving challenge with my son Harley to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
Between now and then other team members, my good friend Gary, my son Corey and our partners Sharon and Vicky will be fundraising to make the most of the challenge for Pancreatic Cancer UK and building the car so its challenge-fit.
There’s lots of things we need help with before, during and after the challenge so if you’d like to join the team please contact me.
What we're doing -
The aim is to complete a journey through 10 countries in 24 hours without any support. To make it even more interesting we're using a modern classic car that wasn't designed for long trips, let alone an endurance challenge, so we'll need to restore and rebuild the car to have any chance of completing the challenge successfully.
Money raised from the challenge will go to Pancreatic Cancer UK, we'll be hoping to achieve a target of £5000 through donations, sponsorship and raffle ticket sales. The car is an MG TF that has been generously donated by Gary and at the end of the challenge we'll be giving the car away to the lucky winner of the charity raffle, get your tickets here or you can buy in person at Teamware (HP1 2SD), The Post Office Arms (HP1 1QN), Three Blackbirds (HP1 1NR) or Top Of The World (HP1 3QF).
Why we're doing it -
The aim is to support Pancreatic Cancer UK with both funds and raising awareness. Doing something different to the usual charity run or walk gives us the opportunity to attend events before the challenge itself to get more people involved and more people aware of the work Pancreatic Cancer UK does.
Cancer of any kind is dreadful so support you give to any cancer charity will be worthwhile. We have chosen Pancreatic Cancer in particular because we have close experience that highlights a particular need for action.
My mum died from pancreatic cancer 30 years ago, since then both my middle brother and my partner's brother also died from pancreatic cancer and recently my eldest brother has been diagnosed and has a very short time left. The prognosis hasn't changed in over 30 years and the prevalence is rising.
This cancer needs action, a diagnosis is nearly always terminal and progresses fast, my own experiences show it can affect people in their 40s and 50s and it doesn't just take it's toll on the person suffering but can destroy the lives of their children, partners and siblings too. More info about Pancreatic Cancer UK is available here.
Thankfully massive progression has been made in detection, treatments, comfort of sufferers and overall prognosis of other cancers that have have had funding into research, support and improved awareness over the last few decades but sadly this hasn't been the case in Pancreatic Cancer. This particular cancer was always a difficult nut to crack and historically less prevalent so it hasn’t had the funding it needs to improve things. Please help us change this by donating, sponsoring, or buying a raffle ticket.
Where we're doing it -
We'll be all over Europe in one day! Not really, just a bit of Europe - We need to make sure no laws are broken, and although it's a tough challenge we want to keep ourselves and other road users safe so the route has been worked out to start in Italy and end in the UK, covering about 1000 miles and visiting 10 countries along the way.
The route starts at Verona in northern Italy 🇮🇹 and first heads north towards Austria 🇦🇹 , then west into Liechtenstein 🇱🇮 and further west into Switzerland 🇨🇭 to go north-west up and along the Swiss-German border, crossing in and out of Germany 🇩🇪 all the way to France 🇫🇷 , followed by a northward zip up the autoroute in France to go through Luxembourg 🇱🇺 and continue through Belgium🇧🇪 to the Netherlands 🇳🇱 , then we head due west back into Belgium and across to France for the final hop over (or under?!) the channel back into the UK 🇬🇧 and head home just north-west of London - it’s well planned so breakdowns (drivers & cars) aside if anything’s going to ruin it you can bet it’ll be the M25!
Leading up to the challenge we'll be attending events and festivals to raise awareness and promote, info about these will be posted on the blog at the bottom of the page. If you have a suggestion for an event or are running one you'd like us to attend please contact me.

10in24 for Pancreatic Cancer
Charity Raffle Details
The basic principle we wish to promote is that you should buy a raffle ticket considering the cost as a donation for Pancreatic Cancer UK. Do not buy a ticket just to win a car, buy a ticket because it’s a donation to a good cause and it would be a bonus to win a car!
The raffle draw -
The draw will take place on Saturday 27th September at approximately mid-day, the venue will be posted here when confirmed and spectators are welcome to attend. All ticket stubs will be accounted for and separated from books. All physical stubs from tickets sold will be placed in a receptacle, mixed, and winners drawn individually by an independent person not associated with the 10in24 challenge.
First prize - The challenge car
The first prize winner will be the first ticket stub drawn.
The prize will be ‘the challenge car’ - at present a 2003 MG TF with 81,000 miles on the clock, bodywork, engine and other key parts restored, looking great, driving perfectly and ready for the road - by the draw date it will be in post challenge condition so will have increased mileage and while we don’t foresee any major problems or damage we can’t guarantee it will be in the same condition after the challenge.
In the event that something happens to the MG TF before completion of the challenge that means we have to use a different vehicle, not necessarily the same make or model, the replacement will then become the prize.
In the event that something happens to the challenge car during the challenge making it uneconomical to recover from mainland Europe a cash prize of £500 will be offered.
The prize car will have a current mot but the winner will be responsible for tax and insurance from the date of accepting it.
The prize car will be the challenge car regardless of condition.
The prize car should be collected from Hemel Hempstead although we will deliver it anywhere within mainland UK, outside of mainland UK the winner will need to pay the additional costs.
If the winner doesn’t want to accept the prize car a cash alternative of £500 will be offered and the car will remain ours with no further claim by the winner.
Second prizes -
The next 10 stubs drawn will win the prizes donated to us by sponsors in order of value, greatest first.
Second prizes will be delivered to the winner if they cannot collect.
No alternatives will be offered.
Runners up prizes -
The next 24 stubs drawn will win prizes of challenge merchandise that will be any of the items we use to promote or sell to raise money in the lead up to the challenge.
Runners up prizes will be delivered to the winner if they cannot collect.
No alternatives will be offered.
The raffle is promoted by 10in24 Challenge, registered as non commercial society for the promotion of small lotteries (Gambling Act 2005, Schedule 11 Part 5) with Dacorum Borough Council, regstration number 391.
